As I’ve mentioned, all of these pumps have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example AOD, MAD and Peristaltic pumps are the best self-primers. Hydraulically Backed Diaphragm, MAD and Solenoid pumps are the most controllable. Solenoid pumps are the most versatile. Sometimes, you’ll just need to deal with the pumps you’ve inherited until the next budget cycle happens.
